The before and after…..

It is interesting to look back on some of my journal pages before I wrote on them and after…….which is better?  Pristine or character?

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind “ a Dr. Seuss quote.  Below is how it looks after my notes and mementos have been added to the page…..

Now, you know what an amazingly interesting life I lead…..not!  But, by golly, I’ll know when we got our new tires and went to see “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”.

Those who make journals use the term “tip-in”.  Ever wonder what that was?  Well, here is an example, above are two facing pages in my journal……with tape I affix a separate single page in between the two…..like this……

flip the page and it looks like this…….and that is a “tip-in”.

This is after it has been written in………

Another page, before…….

Thanks for stopping by….please leave a comment.  I’d love to see your journal, too!

I love your journals, they are so very personal and colorful. Lovely remembrances of all the daily occurrences that go in your life which is what life is all about. A Life Album instead of just a special occasion album. I guess that's what my blog is to me, daily reminders of another 'exciting' day in me-land. But your remembrances are colorful and artistic and something to pass on to future generations. Inspirational!

I love the "after" pages with character! The doodles and writing add so much to the page. Although sometimes when I post journal pages on my blog, I post the "before" pics because I do not want people to read the personal writing and I don't want to go to the trouble of blurring and smudging the writing in photoshop.
Peace,
Karis

You are right...the written in pages, and added bits really make the journal look great, but meaningful too. Gorgeous pages here!!!

I've not had to tip in a page in a book that didn't already have the pages in them that I could cut. I know it can be done, but I have never done it. Your journals are fun, but I am not sure I could write over all that background. Guess that's why I just make journals, but never write in them. And I could NEVER write that small, either. Lovely work, as usual.

BTW, I love that hydrangea. I wish I could grow them here, but the weather is just not conducive.
