I had a great weekend…..I played with hot wax and funky fluorescent pens!
First……doodling with Sakura fluorescent and metallic pens…..!
That was so much fun…..I did this too…..
I am taking an on-line lettering class from Joanne Sharp and these two pages will be included in the journal we are making for a final project. I’ve not done much in my journal….just getting started but here’s what it look like so far.
The doodle page will look like this in the journal……
After a morning spent doing yard work, I moved on to waxy goodness……
A stick embedded in wax with an stamped image of a bug and some fun wax texture.
This one needs some work but I had fun with transfers and wax carving.
Happy Monday….hope you had a great weekend, too, and were able to find time to play a little!

I am meeting a friend for coffee this morning and guess what I bought to give to her: a smooth glass stone with "live, love, laugh" on it. Very much like one of your art works :)
I love those first art works you did with the new media and think that would be fun to try.
The Sakura pen doodling is so pretty! Love your name peice too, Jan! The wax coat really gives such a great texture, doesn't it??? I did find time for some fun, but not much artistic, sadly... ;(
Your journal pages are fabulous! Those doodles on the black are my favorite...love the texture of the wax too.
I am SO impressed with your awesome wax pieces. I must get my wax out and play soon. Of course, I have no encaustics, just wax. But I love what you are showing, even though I probably will never be able to make anything like it.
