Front door greetings....

Here in the Northwest we have had an extra large dose of rain this spring, in spite of it, or maybe because of it, everything is growing.....like weeds, including the weeds.

The blossoms are taking a beating tho', roses blooms are turning to mush and peonies a laying down.....this to will pass.....today's forecast is DRY!  Hooray!

Thought I would share a new "pretty" I purchased this weekend at an art fair......a hand-blown glass orb to float in my water feature along with some Japanese glass floats.

front 001 I added a couple blooms from the nearby rose, too!

front 005I love the color combination of blue and orange!

The water feature and rose arbor line the sidewalk to the front door.

Welcome to my house....I am no "shrinking violet" when it comes to color, LOVE IT!

Also, love the red child's  chair and the watering can with the purple of Petunias and Heliotrope.

front 017

The Heliotrope will add it's wonderful, welcoming, vanilla fragrance.

This is a difficult west facing location....the area is in shade most of the day until late afternoon when the hot sun shines in....so I am trying a sedum "Aeonium Zwartkop" and sedum "Angelina" in a pot.  If, they are not getting enough light I will be able to move them into the sun.....for some light therapy!

front 018

The same is true of the other pots, I'll move as needed.

View from above and the final flourish.... a basket full of flowerpots and old garden tools!

front 016

And should you think I am brilliant and can remember the names and species of all my plants.....NOT true.....I keep a garden journal.....here are a few pages......cline famil 005 cline famil 006

cline famil 007

I started journaling where and what I planted, years ago, because every spring I would be digging up plants I'd forgotten I had planted.....still do that sometimes... but now I can look back and figure out what it was I just destroyed! Haha!

Thanks for visiting today, remember I appreciate comments and I love my followers.  Join me at Outdoor Wednesday, Rednesday and Tabletop Tuesday as I visit all those wonderful blogs!

Your journal is great. I write down things too. Hard to remember otherwise. I also save a plant tag from each kind of plant. Pretty garden and porch area.

Dropping by from Outdoor Wednesday (post #3). If you haven't registered for our glass vessel sink giveaway, it's open until 5pm EST Wednesday.

Jan, that is the funnest looking garden journal I've ever seen! I may have to add some fun to mine, too!

Your pots look so pretty with the chair and water can. I tried heliotrope from seed this year - it's a slow grower. I may see blooms by September, if I'm lucky, lol!

So many pretties to look at here! I like your water feature, and the orb too. Don't you just love the sound of tinkling water in the garden?! And that little red chair with the blue pot looks so nice there, and I especially like the purple touch of the heliotrope. Thanks for reminding me how much I love it, because it smells sooo good!
Happy REDnesday!

Your glass orb caught my eye immediately-very nice! But what I really love, and had intended to do... is the garden journal! So upset that I did not take the time to do that! How many things have I dug up because I did not mark where they were-ugh! Not to mention not knowing the names of things, good for you for doing it!

Wow, that journal is quite impressive. I can't name many plants either and sometimes keep the little tags because I know I will forget what I planted. Love your fountain with the floats.

Love your colorful porch. What a great idea to keep a gardening journal. I hope I remember that next year when I will finally be able to do the landscaping at my house. I keep other types of journals, baking, decorating, kids, etc. but never thought about one for gardening. Great idea.

Lovely, lovely- I keep a "journal" too, but I use the term very loosely for a 3-ring binder with lined pages! One day I will share it, but you have to promise not to laugh- there are no beautiful pictures or drawings like yours. But you've inspired me to maybe add some...

Thanks for participating in the Tuesday Garden Party!
