Very random journal pages.............
This is one I did in memory of my Dad, who passed away in 2000. I carved the stamp using a photo of him as a guide....doesn't much look like him, but I know who it is.
Another page using one of my hand carved stamps.....I really like carving stamps! Have I told you that before....a time or two, maybe.
Giving sketching and watercolor my best shot. I have a real fear of watercolor, it's never been kind to me....it has it's own mind and goes where it chooses. I'm way too much of a control freak to be comfortable with that kind of behavior but after years of flying the white flag of surrender......I'm back in the battle. I WILL tame the watercolor monkey that is on my back! Wish me luck.
This is another watercolor attempt on a very bad choice of papers....this is just a sketchbook.
I am learning the hard way that it is about the paper! I need to use paper that actually likes water, I must remember that.
No rhyme nor reason here, just catching you up on some of my recent adventures in the marvelous world of journaling.
Thanks for stopping by.....please feel free to comment!

I love your journal pages and youncarved stamps! But I just HAVE to tell you that I fear watercolors but am determined to use them, practice, and improve with them this summer! Your poppies are fantastic!!!! Great job, keep going! Show me more to inspire me, please!! Haha kath
I admire your tenacity!
Your carved stamps make my mouth drop in awe and envy. They are always simply perfect.
I guess that's why I don't have any watercolors. But I'll remember it's all about the paper if I ever decide to buy some!
All good, Jan!!!!! Lovely journal in honor of your Dad. You car Ed stamps are just the best. It is POURING rain here. Thinking about pulling out some embroidery. That sounds perfect for this absolutely dreary day!
Xoxo- Julie
jan, I love your watercolored poppies! Beautiful, and your pencil border and the yellow wash on the top gives a feeling of the wind and garden breezes. It's windy here today! Thanks for signing up for my workshop, it will be wonderful!
