Here's what's on my workdesk this Wednesday.....color crayons! Very special, very cool color crayons made by Crayola, no less.
These are sooooooo fun.....Crayola Twistables Slick Stixs, they are basically reasonably priced gel sticks for kids of any age.
The colors are so intense and juicy, you'll love them. Their creamy texture will blend with the touch of a finger and, if you move quickly, they are water soluble. My experience was they dry fast, so if you're going to use water, you have to do it as soon as you lay the color down.
Fun, fun colors and really fun to use! Try it, you'll like it.....and if they beg....share them with your kids!!! They will like them, too.
Join me, this What's on Your Work desk Wednesday, as I visit the work desks of a bunch of talented artists at Julia's Stamping Ground.

I actually have some of these. I think they are greasy and smear, so have never used them much. You'll have to show me how to use them.

I remember when my boys were small that I used to move them on a few pages of their colouring books if there was a particular picture that I wanted to colour in myself!! Even now, I can happily lose an hour by playing nicely with some felt tips. I've often wanted to try Julia's copics but haven't plucked up the nerve to ask yet..!!
They sound like a lot of fun!
Happy WOYWW
Indeed not - love the bright colours and chunky feel!
Thanks for the peek! Sarah (at 4)

Crayons, you never grow out of them. I've still got a full set in the cupboard under the stairs...!!! Forever 4 years old....! Enjoy WOYWW!
Ooooh hints of van Gogh here. Really effective.

That looks great! I love the container they come in. Or whatever it is called. :)
I have not bought a box of crayons for a long time.. I will need to soon as the great- grand children are getting to to three .
I still have a box of the old crayons that has silver and gold in it.. Those are rare today
They look like pastels don't they. I like the effect you've got with them..and how interesting that opinions should be so different. I love that about WOYWW, there's so much to learn!
I love their Twistable Crayons, too. I've never seen yours, but they look like fun! There's just something about a new box of crayons, isn't there? So many possibilities!
Those crayons look amazing! Great picture and love the colours. Share with the kids? I don't think so! LOL Thanks for the peek and enjoy your day!
Just the word can transport you back in time... crayons... I wonder if you dampened the paper before applying your super smooth versions if it would give you longer to work them?
Hi there. Lovely to see all the creativity this week, Never managed to visit last Wednesday and I missed it! Hope you have a lovely blessed week!
Not used crayons for years! Do they still smell the same as they used to?!
I was banned from having crayons when I was little because I chewed them - never did me any harm but my parents weren't taking any chances. Like the piece you have created using them. Elizabeth x #51
I havent seen these before, they look like a much better idea than normal crayons. I always think of wax resist pictures when I think of crayons or at school we used to colour in a piece of card with lots of colours and then cover in black and scratch away the black to make a picture, havent done that in years!
This is my first visit to your delightful blog but I think the first of many visits. I found you on WOYWW, feel free to pop by and see me if you have a few minutes spare.

Oooh, those look like fun! And you have created a beautiful little piece with them! They look to be pastel-like. Sort of a hybrid of crayon and pastel? Thanks for showing me something new!
xoxo Karen
My 21 yr old daughter just did a gorgeous piece of art using plain old crayons! It is amazing what can be done with them. These look super fantabulous! Will have to look for them! Thanks for showing!
