Our Barn House Adventure......

Wow! Here it is only Saturday evening and I've had two very full, fun days of shopping and creativity shared with friends and family.....

Our little troop, Staci,Lucy, Anjee, Ron and I, left Sherwood at 9 o'clock this morning headed for Barn House Flea Market in Battleground, Washington.  A little more than an hour later, we were there.........after some major parking confusion and congestion, we were directed to a front row parking space.

We were greeted by this........

barn house 001A barn and field crammed with chippy white furniture, burlap, lace, galvanized metal, old farm tools, black, white, beige........I was really busy looking and absorbing the creativity that surrounded me.....but I did manage get a few photos to share.

barn house 011 barn house 012 As you can see, the crowd was great and I saw lots of happy shoppers with their hands full of purchases!

Then look at this................

barn house 014

I don't know who's space this was, but some one created this mini-garden, with incredible detail and design, using live plants, rocks and miniature furnishings.

Here are my BH purchases.....not much, but things that I love......a roll of burlap upholstery webbing that I purchased from Tracey atCottage Industry.............

table 017 in the blue bowl are the great flash cards, I got these from Lisa at A Thing For Roses, I will use them later for collage.

We all had a great time and are glad we went.

All this, after a Friday morning where we went estate sale shopping in the country and found some good stuff at super cheap reasonable prices.........

This great wood screen door will soon be attached to the back of our small garden shed, where it will act as a "screen" from the park behind us.

table 022 I have several pieces of enamelware and I'm always attracted to their bright colors so I picked these up.  The face from an old scale was in the free box, I'm going to hang it in my garden shed.

I bought a few more things at estate and yard sales Friday and the displays and repurposing at BH inspired me to use those purchases in creative ways. In fact, I plan on getting started soon on redoing my garden shed.

For someone who claims to be trying to simplify and is clearing out..........I sure bring a lot in AND I still have one full day of the weekend, Sunday, left.....WooHoo!

It looks like you had a great time at the Barn House! We actually didn't arrive till about 1:00pm. I was amazed at all the cars and people still shopping. They had quite a turnout! Glad you had a good couple of days!

That looks like a great place - and I love the little garden - is a little bit like the 'mini people' i remember who lived in the window box at Bert & Ernie's pad...

The burlap is lovely - what will you do with it?

Oh my goodness - such amazing things. How I wish we had Barn house sales like this in Oz. Unfortunately we have nothing close. I've seen a few of them on blog sites and they always look so wonderfully presented. L.O.V.E the burlap webbing.

I'm glad you had a great time at BH - it was so busy I missed several people I wanted to say hi to! We vendors heard how bad the traffic congestion was, the BH boys are going to work that out for the future - what a headache! Love your finds!

Hi Jan,
Glad you had a great weekend. I am definitely taking a little rest today. I want you to know the "crackcakes" were addictive, sorry you didn't get one! With 8 parking attendants they thought they had it figured out. But not to worry those smart BH boys will come up with a creative solution.
Thanks for coming.
JOY!
