Salem Art Fair & Festival…..

Friday, Hubby and I headed to Salem…..the one that is the capital of Oregon!

Every year, for close to 40 years the Salem Art Association has organized and event call the Salem Art Fair & Festival.  The art fair is ranked one of the TOP TEN art fairs in the U.S. and it attract artists from all over the country.  So, the work is good, varied and there are close to 200 vendors in all!  It’s quite a weekend.

I thought I took a lot of pictures but after I got home I realized I had barely captured a good representation of what all was there…..hope you enjoy this sampling!

Pottery that, to me, is reminiscent of the 1920 art deco pottery made by Roseville.

This is an awesome collage made with pieces of maps and other papers……..

Truly, this is just a sampling…..there was clothing, jewelry, hats, shoes, leather goods, weaving…..every art form know to man, I swear, plus food, entertainment and music!  It is exciting and inspiring and daunting, all at the same time.

You can tell by my photos that I am attracted to the bright colors, if you don’t like bright colors…..you would have still found things there that you would love!

So, if you are ever in Oregon the third weekend in July, be sure to include the Art Fair in Salem’s Bush Park in your plans.

I've heard of Salem's art fair, but have never gone. Now I'm going to have to mark it on my calendar for next year!!!

I am constantly amazed at the amazing artwork and talented artists in the world!

That first photo of the assemblages really made me sit up and take notice. I also enjoyed the birdhouses. And was that "metal" copper? You know I love copper. Beautiful choices.

Looks like it was a great event and a lovely day out. I like color so would have been drawn to the same things as you. That last collage with the maps is very cool. Have a wonderful new week. Tammy
