Busy doing it..........!

I always say " don't know what it is I've been doing but I've been very busy doing it".
Well, that is how I feel about this past week.

Went to the doctor Thursday and she suggested I try a gluten free diet for my stomach pain.  Friday we drove down to Salem to visit a few natural food stores and I discovered there are a wealth of gluten free products out there.  You just have to do a little research.

I've been gluten free for only two days but I think it is helping.  We'll see, it could be wishful thinking because this is not a difficult fix!  I've confirmed that sugar and chocolate are gluten free, so really, what am I sacrificing? ;)

In the meantime, I have done a little art work..........

This is my small pottery bird bath in the backyard!

And I added this journal page that records things I see when I walk the dog........

This is the neighbor's cat in our garden, we have two cats of our own, but I really liked the contrast of this black and white kitty with all the green vegetation.   So, I took a photo quickly, before she had time to run off, that way I could paint it later.

Throw in some housework, some yard work, some time visiting friends and time really does fly when you are having fun!

Had to laugh at chocolate being gluten free. I sure hope the new diet helps. With Kansas being the Wheat State, we don't see many gluten free products.

I had to laugh at a friend because he was recently put on a gluten free, meat free diet. And what does Kansas have more than anything? Wheat fields and cattle. Oh well, maybe he can eat our Kansas sunflowers (grin).

Love your trees journal page. That is superbly drawn. I love it.

Ah! yes, welcome to the world of toast substitutes. ;) My doctor suggested a month gluten free and I thought he was crazy as I've been eating it all my life. Duh! Couldn't believe the difference! Toast is my comfort food so finding a good bread has been a challenge. But I do feel better. :) Nice bird bath! and your trees, vbsigh!

Let us know how the gluten free diet goes for you, and if it affects your stomach problems. Chocolate is gluten free, and I saw beer in a store that says gluten free :)

Your journals are beautiful. I don't think I'd do very well going gluten free. I love my gluten. My son was gluten and casein free when he was a little guy for ASD symptoms. I didn't see any difference with GF but definitely with the casein.

I hope the gluten free diet works for you. Being in pain is no fun. Your sketches are amazing, you are such a talented artist. Thank goodness chocolate is gluten free!!
